1. Overview
This Privacy Policy covers the SoilSense app, a soil moisture monitoring application developed by Climamon.com. It explains what information the App accesses, how it is used, and your rights as a user. By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
2. Information We Access
2.1 Account Credentials
When you log in, your email address and password are transmitted securely over HTTPS to your ClimaMon server to authenticate your account. Your password is never stored on your device. Only a short-lived authentication token is saved locally to keep you logged in.
2.2 Sensor Data
The App retrieves soil moisture readings, signal strength, timestamps, and sensor location data from sensors registered to your account on your ClimaMon server. This data resides on your own server and is not accessed or stored by Climamon.com through the App.
2.3 Device Location (optional)
If you choose to use the "Show My Location" feature in the map view, the App will request access to your device's GPS location. This is entirely optional — the App works fully without it. Your location is:
- Used in real time only to display your position on the map
- Never transmitted to any server
- Never stored on your device
- Discarded immediately when you leave the map screen
You may revoke location permission at any time in your device Settings.
2.4 Weather Data
The App fetches a 14-day rainfall forecast from Open-Meteo, a free and open-source weather API. No personal data is sent to Open-Meteo as part of this request.
3. Data Stored on Your Device
The following data is stored locally on your device only and is never transmitted to Climamon.com or any third party:

4. Data We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect, store, or transmit your GPS location
- We do not access your camera, microphone, or contacts
- We do not use advertising networks or analytics SDKs
- We do not track your in-app behaviour or usage patterns
- We do not share any data with third parties for commercial purposes
5. Third-Party Services
The App communicates with the following third-party services:

6. Data Security
- All communication between the App and your server is encrypted using HTTPS
- Authentication uses JWT (JSON Web Tokens) with a 24-hour expiry
- Refresh tokens are stored securely in your device's local storage
- No sensitive data is transmitted in plain text
7. Children's Privacy
This App is not directed at or intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
8. Your Rights
You may at any time:
- Revoke location permission via your device Settings → Apps → SoilSense → Permissions
- Log out to remove authentication tokens from your device
- Uninstall the App to remove all locally stored data
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
